Men of Strength Awards from Men Can Stop Rape (4/29 in DC)

Men Can Stop Rape (MCSR) is one of the leading male anti-violence organization in the US. MCSR does very solid work.

MCSR’s mission statement: Men Can Stop Rape mobilizes male youth to prevent men’s violence against women. We build young men’s capacity to challenge harmful aspects of traditional masculinity, to value alternative visions of male strength, and to embrace their vital role as allies with women and girls in fostering healthy relationships and gender equity.

On Tuesday April 29, MCSR is hosting its annual Men of Strength Awards in Washington DC. “When it comes to preventing violence against women, we can’t afford for men to stand on the sidelines. That’s why we make clear to our Men of Strength (MOST) Club members that they have to act. And act they do, as you’ll find with our outstanding 2008 MOST Club honorees, Odinga Johnson, William Harris, and D’Von Moore.”

Tickets are not inexpensive at $50 for students. The Men of Strength Awards event is at the (fancy) National Press Club.
